Reebox and Sega Alliance
Sega Europe announces today an exclusive sponsorship alliance with Reebok to promote the European Sonic Speed Challenge with Reebok DMX, a European-wide on-line Sonic Adventure competition running from December 1 to January 14, 2000.

Contestants from across Europe download to their Visual Memory unit a specially designed version of the Sonic Adventure Emerald Coast course from a website only accessible with their Sonic Adventure game CD. They are required to retrieve five pairs of hidden Reebok DMX trainers which Dr Robotnik has stolen from Sonic’s wardrobe, while competing for the fastest completion time. Times are then uploaded to the website so that contestants can gauge their rating. Contestants can enter as many times as they wish. The winners will be notified via e-mail and their names will be published on the Sonic Home Page and on Dreamarena at the end of the competition.

By visiting Dreamarena prior to commencing the competition, gamers will be able to discover the location of one of the pairs of DMX trainers in advance

Sega and Reebok have joined together to provide winners with an array of fantastic prizes (see Notes for Editors for full details) with first place winning a personalised Dreamcast pod and £1,000 worth of Reebok sportswear, including the latest Reebok DMX shoes.

J-F Cecillon, Chief Executive Officer, Sega Europe, said:

“The European Sonic Speed Challenge with Reebok DMX, the first on-line Sonic Adventure competition targeted specifically at Sega’s European audience, is the next step to creating Dreamcast’s on-line community. Reebok’s support both in-game and for our consumers make this a truly stimulating competition. ”
