Well what can I say? The sequel to my favourite racing game ever has finally hit all arcades! The anticipation has been unmerciful but the long wait was over as soon as I slotted in my cash! So does it live up to the original masterpiece?

Graphics:
Absolutely amazing. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It's just so realistic especially the Riviera course. The lighting effects are brilliant and AM 3 deserve serious credit here. AM 2 are going to have a very tough job matching up to these standards with Daytona 2 but no doubt they'll pull it off. I could go on all day about how beautiful the graphics are but I think you get the point now?

Sound:
Ooooooh, again the engine sounds are perfect, just so much like the real thing it's unbelievable. As with most arcade games the music is usually turned down so I didn't get a chance to really listen to it but I heard some of the music off the Riviera course and it's really good. I'm glad it's not the usual guitar shit, that stuff can really irritate you! Anyway again top marks for the sound.

Playability:
Ah this is where the game will live or die. I'm sorry to say the playability is dreadful. NOT! It's absolutely perfect yet again. AM 3 have been smart and opted not to change the game too much and were totally right. Why fix something when it's not broken? You get such a thrill when you manage to pull off a brilliant 90 degree turn on the later courses. Top marks again!

Cabinet:
AM 4 have done themselves proud in making the best arcade cabinet to date. It really feels like your driving a real car. Press the break pedal down and your car will jolt forward, pull a hand brake and it will suddenly freeze up. It's just so realistic, you could learn how to drive in this thing!
