Graphics: 9.0
Probably the best graphics of any 8-bit RPG ever made. It looks almost like a Genesis game. The 3-d dungeons look cool even today, although don't expect Doom or Quake quality stuff :) The animation of many of the monsters is excellent as well.

Sound: 8.0
There are some good tunes in the game, and the effects are functional. This is probably the weakest area of the game, but even so, its still good.

Gameplay: 9.5
This is the area where this game really shines. The gameplay is legendary to all who had this game when it was new. In my opinion this is the best playing 8-bit RPG ever released in the US. The dungeons are great and add a lot to the game that it wouldn't have had with overhead dungeons. There are plenty of items and things that need to be done, and travel to three different planets and many different vehicles. All RPG fans will be familiar with the basic interface.

Overall: 9.0
An absolute classic, you can't go wrong with it. Though the graphics and sound are dated today, the gameplay remains as solid as ever, and I highly recommend that any traditional RPG fan check it out.
